Donald Trump Voted Worst Celebrity Neighbor in 2015; Taylor Swift Named Most Desirable Neighbor for 2016

Americans would most like to be neighbors with the singer-songwriter and pop sensationTaylor Swift in 2016, according to the ninth annual Zillow® Celebrity Neighbor Surveyi. Republican presidential candidate and business mogul, Donald Trump, was named the least desirable neighbor of 2015.  

The annual Zillow survey asks U.S. adults which celebrities they would most like to be their neighbor, and with whom they wouldn't want to share a fence.

Most Desirable Neighbors in 2016

Taylor Swift was the top choice for a celebrity neighbor in 2016, earning 12 percent of surveyed adults' votes, up from her third place finish last year. The popstar was especially favorable among millennials, receiving 17 percent of their votes.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence and comedian Amy Schumer rounded out the top three positions, earning 11 percent and 9 percent of votes, respectively. All three women were equally as popular among male and female voters. 

Thirty-four percent of surveyed adults said they would not want to live next to any of the celebrities listed in the poll.

Worst Neighbors for 2015

Outspoken Republican candidate, Donald Trump, tops this year's list for worst neighbor, moving up three positions from his fourth place finish in 2014. Trump earned 24 percent of total votes for worst neighbor, but was especially disliked by females (27 percent) and millennials (33 percent) polled.

Kim Kardashian and Kayne West came in second with 22 percent of the votes, narrowly defeating last year's worst neighbor, Justin Bieber, who ranked third this year (18 percent). Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, finished fourth with 11 percent of votes.

"2015 was a landmark year for Taylor Swift, from her highly successful 1989 World Tour, to being named the youngest female ever on Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Women list - it's no surprise America picked the down-to-earth singer-songwriter as 2016's most desirable neighbor," says Jeremy Wacksman, Zillow chief marketing officer. "Donald Trump on the other hand, is frequently in the limelight for his polarizing comments and non-apologetic attitude which some may see as unattractive qualities in a neighbor."

Baseball fans love to root for their favorite players, and getting an insider's look into their homes is like hitting a home run. With that in mind, Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC and MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, have partnered for the second consecutive year to offer an exclusive look into the different places some of the biggest names in baseball call home.

The 14-week series, starting today on the Coldwell Banker® Blue Matter blog, will offer behind-the-scenes videos of more than a dozen baseball stars. Each video will feature an exclusive look at the player's home along with interviews on what home means to them. The Coldwell Banker Real Estate series leads with a look inside the home and off-the-field life of Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star outfielder, Yasiel Puig.

"The Home Field Advantage series brings together the American Pastime and the American Dream like never before," said Sean Blankenship, chief marketing officer for Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC. "Just like baseball, homes are filled with fascinating stories. This series allows us to connect with these icons on a more personal level and get a glimpse of how their homes are special to them."

In addition to Yasiel Puig, the all-star line-up also includes Jose Reyes of the Toronto Blue Jays, Shane Victorino of the Boston Red Sox, and others such as former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz, who will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame this summer. The series will also offer a look inside the home of St. Louis Cardinals superfan and American fashion model, Karlie Kloss, as well as the home of the late Tony Gwynn, shown by his widow Alicia.

A new player video will debut on the Coldwell Banker Real Estate Blue Matter blog every week through July 27. The Home Field Advantage series will also be featured on MLB.com and the official website of each player's team at different points throughout the baseball season.

Prestigious, One-Of-A-Kind Preston Hollow Estate Hits Market With Record $100 Million Listing

The most exclusive residential real estate listing in Dallas history hit the market today asAllie Beth Allman, founder and CEO of Allie Beth Allman and Associates, announced that the 25-acre estate of Thomas O. (Tom) Hicks is officially for sale at $100 million. The listing will be featured on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in the coming week.

Located at 10000 Hollow Way in Dallas' most prestigious neighborhood of Preston Hollow, the estate comprises the four-story main house, a two-story formal guest house and a recreation complex with a country club sized pool, veranda and a three-story pool house with a fully equipped game room, and a full basement with a theater and media room. The buildings have more than 35,000 square feet of air-conditioned living space. The extensively landscaped grounds also include formal gardens, a large open meadow and pond, meandering creek, and extended paths and trails to explore several acres of forest that buffer the estate from its neighbors. "This is the first time that the Hicks estate has been offered publicly through national real estate listing networks and marketed actively," said Allman, who sold the estate to Tom and Cinda Hicks in 1997. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a new buyer – only the third owner in 77 years – to acquire this magnificent property."

The original estate was built by Pio and Florence Crespi in 1938 and was designed by architect Maurice Fatio, known for perfect proportions and elegant detailing.  When the Hicks took ownership of the property, they initiated significant exterior and interior design renovations under the guidance of New York architect Peter Marino, who stayed true to the classic styling. Lighting throughout the property was commissioned by noted lighting designer Craig Roberts, and construction was completed by Dallas builder John Sebastian. 

Over a 33-month period, 250 workers, three project managers and five superintendents worked seven days a week to complete the renovations, which included extending and expanding the main house and building the guest house and recreation complex. The Hicks acquired adjacent lots to expand their acreage and create a unique park-like setting, installing expansive landscaping under the leadership of London-based landscape architect Arabella Lennox-Boyd and Dallas-based Warren Johnson.

The Dallas real estate market may never see an estate of this size and scope again, according to Allman. "Real estate investment values in Dallas are increasing as the city positions itself to become the nation's third largest metro area and international trade center. We're seeing a correlating spike in interest in luxury residential properties, especially in Preston Hollow, which is a long-cherished setting for discerning buyers who want a pastoral setting within minutes of big city attractions." Allman does not expect an assemblage of land this prestigious to ever become available again in this area.

The favorable listing price was derived through valuation of the land, which in Preston Hollow has a market value of approximately $2 million per acre and $1,200 to $1,400 per square foot for the cost of the improvements. Sebastian estimates the land and property value at $112 to $122 million, excluding expenses for landscaping and hardscaping estimated at $10 million. 

Among the array of superior amenities of the four-story home are: extensive security systems, 14-foot ceilings, a library featuring 1820s paneling from France, 17th century manganese tile in the kitchen, a conservatory, a movie theatre and a 500-bottle wine storage room. Sebastian noted that he has built other estates outside of Texas, but "nothing as timeless and captivating as the Hicks property."

The Hicks made the decision to list and actively market the estate now that all of their children are grown and have homes of their own, and to spend more time traveling and pursuing other interests.

Justin Bieber Named Worst Celebrity Neighbor in 2014; Jimmy Fallon Voted Most Desirable Neighbor for Second Year in a Row

Americans would most like to be neighbors with comedian and late-night-show host Jimmy Fallon in 2015, according to the eighth annual Zillow® Celebrity Neighbor Surveyi. Pop star Justin Bieber was named the least desirable neighbor of 2014, earning the most "worst neighbor" votes in the survey's eight-year history.

The annual Zillow survey asks U.S. adults which celebrities they would most like to be their neighbor, and with whom they wouldn't want to share a fence.

Most Desirable Neighbors in 2015For the second year in a row, Fallon was the top choice for a celebrity neighbor, earning 10 percent of surveyed adults' votes, down slightly from 11 percent last year. The comedian's popularity was higher among voters with kids (14 percent) than those without (8 percent).

Country music couple, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were a close second place with 9 percent of the votes. The stars were more favored by female voters surveyed (12 percent) than males (6 percent).  

Worst Neighbors for 2014Infamous pop star Justin Bieber topped the list of worst neighbors for the year, earning the highest percentage of votes in survey history. One in three voters (34 percent) found Bieber to be the most undesirable neighbor of 2014, an increase from 16 percent last year.

Last year's worst neighbors, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, came in second with 22 percent of the votes, down slightly from 25 percent last year. The newlyweds ranked higher on the list by large margins compared to competitors Miley Cyrus (10 percent),Donald Trump (5 percent) and Alec Baldwin (3 percent).

"From his frequent run-ins with the law to his over-the-top house parties, Justin Bieber has earned himself quite a bad-boy reputation that only continued to build in 2014," said Amy Bohutinsky, Zillow chief marketing officer. "No one wants to live on the same street as someone accused of reckless driving or egging neighboring homes, which is likely why Bieber received the highest percentage of 'worst' votes in survey history. Jimmy Fallon, on the other hand, had an incredibly successful first year on 'The Tonight Show,' is well-liked by Americans and carries a positive, relatable vibe. Plus who wouldn't want to live next to someone who makes you laugh?"

Thirty-six percent of surveyed adults said they would not want to live next to any of the celebrities listed in the poll.
